Fontainemore
On foot
Althought just 300m from a regional road, the sleepy hamlet of Espaz has a feeling of isolation. A series of muletrails connect it to many other neighbouring hamlets as well as the historic centre of Fontainemore. A walk to the centre takes 5-10 minutes passing first through woodland and then along the banks of the river Lys. The village is equipped with a weekly market, grocery, creamery, cafés, restaurant, tourist office and one of the most photographed bridges in Northern Italy. There are various other recommended eateries and facilities within a short drive.

By bus
The bus stop is just 400m away. This line is well served and runs the length of the valley connecting the skiing areas of Gressoney with the transport hub of Pont-Saint-Martin. It can also provide more options for those wishing to start/finish longer day-treks in neighbouring villages. From "Ponte" you can get connecting services to Turin, Milan and Aosta.

Shopping
The quaint town of Pont-Saint-Martin sits at the base of the Gressoney Valley and is just a 10 minute drive. You will pass through it on your way to La Maisonette. The town offers full services facilities including petrol stations, auto-repair, supermarkets, banks, train station, etc. This is also the main transport hub for onward travel.
